Well Christina did really well in the entrance exams and secured a place at St George's Ascot. I find it hard to believe that we have worked together since Christina was in Year 1 and that come September she will be in Year 7!
Apart from Christina, Sam has come to Panacea once a week and has done some interesting work both indoors and outdoors. He did some experiments with bicarbonate of soda and discovered that it makes things fizzy and bubbly. He made some cinder toffee.
When Sam first came to Panacea he was afraid of Barkis who always has to give a very big welcome to visitors. He is so enthusiastic, and this is typical of the breed, but there is no malice in him at all. He just LOVES people!

Now what of others? Paddy was helpful in gathering some willow cuttings which we planted into the ground in the hope that they would root and help to reinforce the bank when winter floods come again. ![]()
Connor has found a huge appetite and enjoys breakfasting on most days. He has set up the freshwater tank and we have mussels, caddisfly larvae and one gudgeon. We visited the garden centre and bought some oxygenating plants and spent a good time going around the aquatic centre looking at all the tropical fish.
Ben is quite new to Panacea but has really managed to do plenty. He made a trebuchet (Roman catapult) and did some pyrography skulls on it. He is working on an arena for his fighting whizz tops.
Sadly Josh has moved away so no more chat about his weekends of car racing-good luck Josh and stay safe, no more somersaulting the mini! Josh was always very helpful and practical and he had some very good design ideas.
Happy half term break everyone.
