Panacea Newsletter 12

During the last two months we have had amazing conditions down here on the holding. In November the river rose and flooded into the garden and again in December this time to a greater depth. We had to move three chicken/duck houses to the top of the garden as they were vulnerable to the flood waters as they washed through.

Bob created a platform on the landing stage as we couldn't get up and down to Panacea because of the height to which she had risen. Probably in total the rise was about one and a half metres. However we also had some frosty, snowy weather which made everything look beautiful in the sunshine. Did I say sunshine?!

So extreme weather has made for an interesting few months

but also we have been busy with the boys working hard at the different things that interest them. Josh has been creative in the garden making a retainer for the soil in the chicken run. Connor has worked with Precious Metal Clay as have Robbie and Paddy. Josh and Connor have also got to grips with the sewing machine.

........and...we put the mast up on Hendrina and the Christmas lights went right from the bottom to the top of it and twinkled throughout the festive season along with the lights on Panacea, the workshop, shed, lychgate and hedge! Sadly for us but great news for him, Robbie is leaving and moving to West Wickham to live with a family there. This means that he has now left Wishmore Cross and will join his family in early January. I have worked with Robbie for nearly five years and will miss him greatly. Good luck, Rob, keep in touch and come and see us soon. Barkis needs his playmate! Lots of love from us all here at Panacea
