We have achieved many things this term having welcomed new people and said goodbye to others. Josh joined us during the term and really got into life at Panacea!
He enjoyed catching fish, dredging for mussels and anything else that provided interest for the freshwater tank that we established again in the shed. Josh really managed to get a lot out of his days by the river but sadly won't be here next term.
Ben has some very creative ideas which he executes really well using the sewing machine, pyrography iron and the bigger machinery for sawing and drilling wood. Paddy and Conor completed their names in graffiti letters to put on their bedroom walls. ![]()
I discovered some Mallard eggs in one of our duck arks and not wanting them to deteriorate I put them into the incubator. After 28 days five out of six little ducklings hatched out. We named them Dodgy (who nearly didn't hatch!) now with a green leg band, Little T (yellow) Blue Dude (light blue) Houdini (red) and Billy- no- Mates (dark blue) and who quite often visits on his own. Having raised them for two months they are now out on the river and call in for food and rest each day.
Finally Conor H has now finished at Panacea having spent two years coming down here. We are really sorry to think that he won't be with us any more but we know that he is ready for other action and really wish him well. Good luck Conor.
So now the summer draws to an end and we look towards the new academic year and all that it will bring. With the approach of autumn and winter months we enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the workshop and De Vrouwe Panacea. different from being outside all the time, but we do get more creatively thinking!
See you soon
