Dear Subscriber
The roof of Hendrina has been coated in a plastic based varnish. Her roof is teak on steel. When the steel expands the caulking between the teak planks cracks which then lets rain into the saloon. The new coating flexes and allows for temperature change. She does look smart too! ![]()
Dorcas laid an enormous egg.Lewis weighed it and discovered that it was 97g.Her normal egg is usually about 54g and Blanche the duck lays one of around 70g so it really was HUGE! Yes,it was a double yolker. ![]()
Beryl and Sybil arrived to boost the female members of the duck family.Sadly Beryl disappeared one night, never to be seen again but Sybil is well integrated with the others.Blanche has had a week in solitary confinement as we are trying to help her re-establish her feathers. She became bedraggled with the constant mating and "treading" of the drakes. ![]()
Nothing like a cup of tea and a biscuit first thing in the morning, and I mean first thing! 6:00 a.m. and all is peaceful except for the quacking of the ducks. ![]() Dated: 2011-05-18 and Updated: 0000-00-00 | |
